Because to be honest I hated the first 5 minutes, then everything was intense and confusing and then it was over and I just felt devastated and confused. Doctor Who is just meant to be watched, never completely understood. When I first watched the series, I found myself extremely and constantly frustrated with the show and with all of the holes in the stories, all of the logic that had been ignored. I soon realized in order to enjoy the show, you just have to stay along for the ride and nod your head and say, “Alright, so this is where the show is going”. The Doctor Who show and its relationship with its fanbase is one of trust. We just have to sit back and trust the creators and where and why they’re taking the series in the direction at hand — that is of course, unless you plan on becoming part of the production.
